This is a wonderfully tranquil setting, and the house is spacious and full of homey touches and thoughtful artistic beauty. I felt immediately relaxed as soon as I arrived, and wished we were staying for even longer. We will definitely think of staying here again if we are looking to visit this area together another time.

It was a beautiful place to stay. Cozy and relaxing. Boulder creek was a charming small town to spend time in and unwind. Home fit the cottage ambiance perfectly.

The best part of Fern Cottage is the private garden. It is a lovely space to relax and bask in nature. There is some occasional traffic noise because one side of the property is next to the road. Inside, the house is decorated to induce a sense of coziness. There is one gas heater in the living room and a working fireplace. In the winter, the living room stays warm, but other parts of the house gets pretty cold. I image it being a more cozier house in the summer. Doors to the single bathroom are slatted, so there is no noise privacy.

We loved our stay at Kathleen’s cottage. The garden is beautiful, and the cottage is cozy yet spacious. It was the perfect relaxing laid back getaway we were hoping for. The Boulder Creek town, shops, eateries are just a few minutes of drive away, and if needed, Ben Lomond and Felton are reachable easily too. We went out to the Fall Creek hikes during the day and would highly recommend that too, especially if you have little kids with you. Kathleen left us just the most welcoming message when we booked on Airbnb, and she has really helpful notes and information in the cottage that made us feel she has really put a lot of thought into it! The garden is really lovely too but we went when it was too cold and damp for us to spend a lot of time in it. Made us wish we had chosen a sunnier time to make the best of the lovely garden too! All in all, exactly what we needed.
