This is the second time we have stayed and Shawna and Bill’s Whish Cottage. Our family and friends have really enjoyed the space for our winter wonderland escape! The cottage is so cozy and offers a perfect venue for great meals, board games and quality time together. It is quiet and private, but close to various outdoor activities. This year we took our dogsled out on the lake nearby and hiked the trail to High Falls (southern Algonquin park) just a 3 min drive from the cottage. Our kids love the loft bedrooms and we took full advance of the relaxing sauna after day trips out in the cold. Having somewhere to take our dogs for family time is so important to us and Shawna and Bill make a point of welcoming them as well. Thank you! We love this space, it doesn’t feel cramped, has a perfect cabin charm and all the essentials of home! This year they left a lovely welcome package, which was such a treat to receive - how spoiled!

This is my second time staying here and am hoping to make it a yearly trip. The hosts are fantastic, the cottage is gorgeous, and the area is perfect. It's a 10/10 and in my opinion better than staying in the Muskokas side of Algonquin. Less touristy more nature. Would recommend over and over again.

Shawna and Bill’s cottage is absolutely dreamy. We had always wanted to spend time in a cozy a-frame, and this spot surely delivered. Do yourself a favour and sit in the big grey chair, and take in the splendour that the triangular structure offers. The cabin comes loaded with anything you’ll need for your stay. The yard/grounds are lovely. We enjoyed star gazing and evening around the fire. I have nothing but good things to say about this stay and am already looking forward to visiting again.

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend away surrounded by lots of snow! Couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing weekend with our two pups. Shawna and Bill were amazing hosts and communication was impeccable. We’ve always wanted to stay in an a-frame cabin and this exceeded expectations. Beautifully decorated with lots of character. We happened to go on the coldest weekend of the winter so far, but were nice and cozy inside and still got to go out and explore the area a bit. They had thought of everything with heating blankets and a space heater for the bedroom. Also, what a weekend to have time in a sauna! We highly recommend Shawna and Bill’s place. We had a fab time and would love to go back. Such a beautiful part of Ontario and to see it covered in snow was spectacular!
