My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stephanie And Forrest's Dockside Cabin at Homer Seaplane Base! The cabin is in great shape and had everything we needed for our 3 day stay in Homer. We enjoyed the great lake view and watching seaplanes take off and land. We made full use of their outdoor grill to cook up our fresh salmon and halibut. It's ideally situated between town and 'the spit' so easy drive to everything. Highly recommend the Dockside Cabin and hope to get back to visit again soon.
This was my second stay at this property! Last one was over 5 years ago. Liked it so much, wanted to come back next time I was in Homer! A friend and I were staying at this place and I asked for an extra set of linens for the couch. I received an immediate response that they would take care of it. It was all set and ready for us when we got there. Hope to come back again for the 3rd time!
The dockside cabin was a beautiful, clean, simple place to stay. We were able to catch some sea planes landing in the mornings, which was very cool. We would have liked some curtains/blinds on the front door and side window for more privacy (but it's not like there was much traffic outside). Also, the WiFi was dodgy and unreliable, but you're probably in Alaska to disconnect anyways. Overall, it was a great, one-of-a-kind place to stay in an excellent location.

We enjoy living in Alaska because people here have stories to tell and there are lots of opportunity to hike, ski, and play outside. Stephanie works as a float plane pilot and in her free time she travels and writes. Forrest works as a boat captain and loves to travel and adventure outdoors. We like meeting travelers, making friends, and having parties. We don't smoke and don't have any pets. Our only "5-year plan" is to do whatever God puts in front of us. We believe in travel that is simple and affordable, so we try to keep our listed spaces within a reasonable budget for travelers.
