Such a unique spot to stay, right in the middle of a historic fort with a very engaging museum to explore. Shary was such a kind and welcoming host. I very much enjoyed my experience here, they do a great job honoring the history of the building.

After helping me bring my things into the Inn from my car, Shary gave me a tour of each of the rooms. Each room is like a mini museum within a museum. Shary also made muffins and offered those with coffee in the morning, which was a welcome treat! I was aware of the rural nature of Fort Totten so was not expecting a selection of restaurants etc. I was looking for a quiet, quaint place to stay and that is what the Inn provided. One suggestion for the rates of the rooms is to have a Sunday-Thursday rate that is lower than the weekend rates. I also had the pleasure of meeting Mary Beth, another Innkeeper. Mary Beth took me for a stroll around the grounds and shared information about each of the buildings and some history. This was a bonus!! There are some things that would be very helpful for guests to know before arriving. For example, the closest full service grocery store is in Devils Lake.

Awesome place! It's a great experience to be able to stay at the fort. Each bedroom is unique. All are victorian style. Would certainly recommend! Jill and her husband were great hosts

Absolutely Amazing!!! We slept in a museum... Fascinating experience. The historical environment is enveloping with so much to see and read and discover we could have easily spent a week. Very clean and confortable bedroom and bathroom.. The kitchen is more than equipped and functional while still being historical. We highly recommend!!!
