We had a strange experience as we were opening the door to check in. A neighbor with an unleashed dog came up to us (it was 9pm and pitch dark) yelling at us repeatedly to shut the door. It was a little disturbing and got our stay off to a bad start. The door was unlocked and the key was inside, as was stated it would be. We were left with a feeling of uneasiness after this person came out of nowhere and frightened us. We also heard her walking around our cabin and talking in the middle of the night both nights. The mattresses were very old and the shower leaked water all over the floor.
Neva's cottage at WildHeart in Wallkill, was just what my wife and I needed. The cottage provides central AC and heating, fast wifi and a well stocked kitchen. Not to mention, it's located in a calm and peaceful community. Lastly, our communication with the Neva was swift and uncomplicated.
An incredible place in the making! While some of the buildings on the grounds are yet to be remodeled, our little cabin was seamlessly restored to its original mid-century charm. Spent the warm winter day by the lake/pond… such a unique and secluded place so close to the city. Can’t recommend enough.
It does feel like you’re staying at a Girl Scout summer camp. The cabin was a bit more rustic and cramped than I was expecting. The beds were comfy and it was very quiet. Even though the cabin was listed at $125/night our cost was over $650 for three nights with all of the additional fees. That’s way too much for this type of accommodation. Close to Dia and Storm King. We enjoyed the fire pit. Raphael was very kind and responsive.
Friendly residential neighborhood.
You'll need a car. Plenty of parking on site!
