We housed one film crew member at Sharyn's home. The space was absolutely lovely, and perfectly suited to our purposes and she was extremely accommodating to our team's needs. I highly recommend Sharyn's space for future bookings, she is a lovely host!

Conveniently located, spacious, indoor fireplace with fire wood and 9 cats to complement the experience. We are cat people and we enjoyed our stay!

What a wonderful, restful stay! We loved the experience of getting to know all the cats... The house had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home and we got excellent service. It's also beautifully positioned to explore the Elgin Railway Market and other gems...

If you're a cat person this is definitely the spot for you. It was a first for me to be surrounded by 9 cats at the same time whilst trying to prepare supper. Overall fantastic outdoor stay in the woody mountains.

Grievances: place advertises WiFi but the WiFi is very poor and unstable . My cellc network and cellc router even worked better, and we all know how cellc is outside of the city. If you need WiFi to work. I highly do not recommend this stay. I was only given one clean washed towel on the 10th day of my stay. They fetched the other towels on the 12th or 13th day. They never came to change bedding or clean during my stay. They did not provide toilet paper rolls. They do not walk you into the property to show you around. Also the place was not cleaned before me. Only slept in the main bedroom. Used my own bedding and pillows instead. Shower was not clean and even had the previous persons used soap with hair and back scrubber. I found the shower with brown mold. I politely reported the shower on the 3rd day after I had recovered from my long drive down from JHB and figured I could deal with the rest. I even asked if there was a cleaning service or if cleaning utensils can be offered to me. She did not apologise for a dirty place, she instead sent me cleaning utensils. I did not use them because the idea of cleaning up after someone else’s dirt disgusted me. I bought flip flops instead. Sharyn lives on the property, but does not engage with you in person- even if you have an urgent concern. She can however come to the neighbours who live right behind you. Disrespectful. We experienced loadsheyand an outtage which out of Sharyn’s control and electricity came back each time. However The cottage electrical circuit is faulty. May 12th Thursday, another night of Loadshedding the Loadshedding came back on for everyone at on the property at 10pm, everyone except for me in the cottage. The lights came back on, but the cottage plugs were tripped and kept on tripping. Then only two plugging points worked whilst the others tripped and even damaged their kettle as the neighbour and I went around testing the circuits with the kettle. Of which those two plugs would only work if you plugged an appliance that did not demand a lot i.e router/ laptop. And only plug two small appliances at a time. But would trip again after an hour or so. I Had to come up with my own solution, the neighbours helped me too. We ran their extension plug from the office next door, into the cottage main bedroom window. This is when I tried to check if I can instead sleep in the small bedroom because I did not want to sleep with an open window, just to find that there was sand in the small bed. Confirming again that this place was not cleaned before me. I was extremely disgusted and chose to rather sleep in the main bed with the open window. With no heaters, or microwave as everything had to be switched off and unplugged. I could only use the lights and plug my laptop, phone charger, kettle and router (through the extension). Sharyn showed no empathy. Did not once apologise for a dirty place or apologise during these three days of no electricity (Thursday 12th - Saturday 14th) even after explaining the urgency as I work online. No one expects you to fix the whole electrical circuit over night, but a paying customer does expect you to provide a temporary working solution of which she failed to do so and first waited for me to completely lose my cool (over text) on Friday afternoon. She Did not take any of my calls but could immediately text back. Did not even show face. Did not even come into the cottage to show her face. Or show care or understanding. I had to re-explain everything to the helpful neighbours. Who helped with the temporary solution of an extension cord, of which I had asked for already on the Friday morning. And all this started on Thursday night May 12th. Whilst I was working. I only bumped into her when I went to ask the neighbours for help one last time on the Friday afternoon. I honestly HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE if you like cleanliness, good customer service, and an understanding host and especially if you work from home. Appraisal: Great location. Lovely animal farm. Smooth check out. Lovely neighbours.
