We loved this place! It is even better in person than the pictures. The view over to Arran is absolutely beautiful. The house has everything you need and more- the robes in every room were a brilliant addition which we all loved. Every room is so well decorated and a gorgeous place to stay in. We were amazed and would definitely recommend staying here.

It would take a week to mention everything good about this house. I'll do my best in a few paragraphs. Our booking was for a group of writers meeting together for a few days to discuss ideas and share inspiration. The house layout and space, and its location was perfect for this. A generous welcome basket was set out for us including what looked like mostly local produce including the famous Gigha milk. During the week we worked round the table in the library, the perfect environment for our discussion and writing. The books in the library cover a wide range of subjects although those on the upper levels are not really accessible. Of course the kitchen is always the hub of any gathering and here is a spacious, fantastically well stocked kitchen including basic condiments, plenty of crockery cutlery, and glasses, good sharp kitchen knives and even kitchen foil and cling film. There is plenty of fridge/freezer space. Two ovens and two dishwashers. Our group regularly had 4 people preparing food in the kitchen with space to work freely while chatting. Too many cooks never spoiled the broth. The games tables are in good condition although purist snooker players might bemoan the faintness of the markings and the minor rips on the snooker table. As amateurs we still played great games on it though. One of the small sitting rooms also contains a good selection of board games including Monopoly and Scrabble although sadly not Chess (take your own set!). Upstairs, the en-suite bedrooms are beautiful and unique and we had great fun bagging our favourites and tossing coins where preference couldn't decide. The constantly changing view of Arran, is the obvious jewel in the crown. Visible from one end to the other with Goatfell predominant. The sunlight breaks through the clouds creating a different picture of the island every few minutes and watching this from the hot tub early in the morning was an unforgettable highlight. The 2 local trips are the "Kintyre 66" (66 miles loop around the Kintyre Peninsula) and the shorter trip to Skipness; both are exquisite and well worth taking. We also took an evening drive around to Kilberry which has stunning views to Islay and Jura. We brought groceries on the way since there are no major supermarkets anywhere in the area. I would strongly recommend bringing everything with you, using cool boxes where necessary. The calmness and peace of the location includes remoteness from fuel stations and shopping areas, which of course is one of the appeals. The house was warm and comfortable, Neil and Sarah were on hand to deal with the couple of queries we had within minutes. Overall the stay was as close to perfect as could be imagined.

Stayed here to celebrate my 40th birthday and couldn't have spent it anywhere better. The house is amazing with everything you could want and more. Amazing views, more space than you could ever need and VERY comfy beds. Perfect for a large gathering of friends if you want to just get away from it all for a few days. Can't praise this place highly enough 😊
