Such a quaint, peaceful cottage on an absolutely beautiful piece of waterfront land. The sunrises were spectacular and the wildlife was so fun to watch. The clear sky and lack of city noise and pollution was the welcome change we needed to refresh. Our old pup loved meandering around the grounds and following her nose, she particularly enjoyed her time snoozing on the beach area and even braved the sandbar. A fire in the fire pit and some toasted marshmallows were the perfect end to our day. Highly recommend this property for a couples retreat, you could never leave! But the local seafood is amazing and Fawns coffee is worth the morning drive out. Wineries on the way from Northern VA were a fun stop on the way down. We’ll absolutely be back!

Very beautiful place…Very peaceful place…I liked that I was able to open the windows and hear the sounds of the water. It was soothing and the view is breathtaking. I enjoyed the scenic walks, I discovered a really cool swing and was able to let my inner child out. I enjoyed the hammocks near the water. I also made the best s’mores at the fire pit near the cottage and loved the many seating areas. Beautiful experience would do it all over again.

Third time staying and enjoyed the stay as usual. The space is well kept and the grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed kayaking to pebble beach, grilling outside and spending a lot of time just sitting at the water. Tip: bring repellant and several repellant candles if you want to be outside especially towards the evening. It’s a nature so of course there are mosquitos. We usually come in the cooler months and didn’t need it. But def needed it for summer. A storm caused some issues our first night that were out of the host’s control, but she was responsive, incredibly helpful, and resolved the issue as soon as possible. I think that is the true measure what makes someone a good host or not. Will absolutely be back again.

We absolutely loved our stay and want to come back many more times!! It was wonderful, relaxing, peaceful, beautiful, and a stunning place!! There aren’t many spots like this one and it exceeded our hopes and dreams!!

PROS -peaceful, serene setting -kayaks were fun to paddle around the bay -plenty of natural light -tasteful decor CONS -no kitchen towels -although a 5-person canoe was listed as available, we certainly could not find it -the unit had not been swept or vacuumed in some time -- lots of dust, especially under the furniture, and many, many dead bugs on the carpets and along the walls
