The town of Polson is only 10 minutes away, and the larger cities of Kalispell (50 minutes) and Missoula (75 minutes) are easy trips to explore, dine, and shop. The Guesthouse is located a short 15-minute walk to the shores of Flathead Lake. Or, bring your boat with you and enjoy outstanding days on the cleanest, clearest, and largest natural lake in the western US. The “Walstad” public boat launch is only 7 minutes (3.2 miles) away with ample boat trailer parking after launching. Flathead Lake is great for water skiing/boarding, fishing for Mackinaw Lake trout, or peacefully swinging on anchor in Wild Horse Island State Park cove while swimming and watching herds of deer, mountain sheep, and occasionally, the wild horses that still roam this 2200-acre island. You can also take your boat to many local eateries and bars located in the bays and small towns around the lake. Tie up at their docs and sample good food and locally brewed or distilled beverages.
