Nice area in easy walking distance to Lake Merritt, Children’s Fairyland, grocery store, fun bookstore-bar. Very roomy house with large areas for hanging out together or for getting some quiet time. Kitchen very well stocked with dishes and cooking stuff. We were eight people ages 3 to 66 and everyone had a great time.

Lovely weeklong Berkeley graduation stay! Great location: 2 minutes walk to Lake Merritt, 5 minutes to Haddon Cafe (good coffee and baked goods), 10-15 minutes to small but fun playground and amazing w/e farmer's market. Spectacular flowers and shrubs on the street. House: spacious, pretty, comfortable, clean, well decorated, newly furnished. Beds good. Kitchen has everything you could possibly want (we ate in b/c of small child). 2 upstairs bathrooms clean and functional. (Having a separate toilet downstairs is great.) 3 excellent bedrooms upstairs: spacious, w. good closets. Beware: downstairs bedroom is tiny and has no outlook: not comparable to upstairs. We were 2 couples, 1 adult & 1 toddler. Backyard setup is cool and fun for kids. Toys available. Entry stairs are steep and numerous: no problem for healthy adults and kids; maybe a problem for older or differently abled people. Garage is a little tight for full size car but works, and is a major plus. Would definitely return.

Great stay for a Berkeley graduation. Only downside was the multiple stairs to enter the property which proved challenging for some in our group after a long day touring San Francisco. The beautiful space was perfect for our family of 8 and our celebration.

Gavin's place is wonderful! We loved the location—being just a block or two from Lake Merritt was so lovely! The house has a lot of big open spaces and there were 6 of us (3 couples) and we never felt like we were stepping on each other's toes. There are 3 large bedrooms upstairs, which was nice for when someone wanted to go to bed early. We will definitely be bookmarking this place and hope to stay here again next time we're in Oakland.
