This was a very clean and nice studio condo! It is in the woods and very peaceful. It is 2.5 miles in to town but I did not mind the walk or bike ride.

Overall a nice little studio condo. It is suitable for a couple. The pull out sofa bed was very uncomfortable and the covering on the mattress had rips in it. Linens were left in a bag by the door and door was open and lights on when we arrived. Not a very secure start to our trip. If you like seclusion this is a good place to stay. If you want easy access to town you will want to stay closer in town. A long taxi ride from town.

We really enjoyed Martin's place for our 4 night stay on Mackinac Island for our very first trip. Had a couple questions about the lock and the bikes, and they were responsive and informative. Was very nice to have the bikes included with our stay as it eliminated the expense of renting 2 bikes. Put a lot of miles on the bikes each day going to town, which was about a 15 minute ride, as well as going around the island loop at least once everyday. We dined one night at the Woods restaurant, which was very convenient as it was only a 3 minute walk away or so. Beautiful views from the balcony at the fall colors. Jacuzzi tub was very nice for both of us to sooth sore muscles from a lot of walking and biking. Small kitchen handy for coffee in morning and quick foods. Tv with Netflix was a nice homey feel each night winding down. Highly recommend this condo as an affordable place to stay on the island and enjoy all its offerings!

Really beautiful views and a nice private setting. If you're looking for "away from the bustle of downtown" then this is it. Having bikes included is a nice bonus in terms of cost savings and for getting around. Our host was very communicative and friendly. We very much enjoyed our stay. Things to consider for the uninitiated to the island or for someone that has some physical limitations; 1) It s a bit of a walk from downtown (40 minutes) mostly uphill; 2) Once you commit to taking the bike you've committed for the day since the taxi's typically don't have room to haul them back which leaves you with an uphill bike ride back after your days' activity, etc.; 3) Even off-season the wait for the taxi is well over an hour so plan ahead; 4) Get your check in done during daylight hours and earlier in the day. My wife and I didn't do this and faced a late night uphill walk with our luggage while trying to locate the place for the first time which was a bit challenging.
