This was the worst experience ever. The host did not contact us until almost 5pm on the day of arrival with acknowledgement of booking or check-in instructions, and even then asked for time to prepare the room for us. We were not able to get into room until after 7pm, and arrived to find the place filthy, no working tv or internet, and many maintenance and repairs needed in the place. The city was booked up and we had no choice at the late time to go elsewhere. This is basically a garage that has been converted into a guest suite, but it is not well maintained. I don't expect everything to be new and fancy, but what I do expect is cleanliness, and this place was filthy from the ceiling to the floors, and every place in between. Lack of proper locks & security on doors, Electrical outlet boxes hanging out of the wall, small holes in ceiling and walls, dead bugs in corners, and the list could go on and on. When we tried to contact the host for check-in and issues during stay, she would not respond to voicemail or messages through the app. I had to get Airbnb customer support involved before we ever checked in to help with contacting host, and we ended up staying only one night instead of two due to the problems encountered. It's two days later, I still have had no response or contact from host, and I am still working with Airbnb to try to resolve the case and get a refund.
