Stand-alone house in a three house compound. Host and big family, some dogs and chickens are right next door but all are super friendly and responsive. Pick this for cheaper digs close to Sequoia National Park (1.5 hrs to General Sherman tree). We spent Thanksgiving there and felt cozy watching football and preparing a full meal. Kids said next door music was “vibe” and it didn’t go late at all. We even exchanged her great tamales for our hot apple cider and mulled wine.

My boyfriend and I rented this house to spend a couple days at Sequoia. Upon our check in, there were residents standing in the courtyard which surprised us because we were unaware that there were other houses on this lot. From the listing it seemed like a single home in a gated lot. Someone approached us and told us the house was unlocked but he didn’t introduce himself, so we were unsure if he was the owner. No one else talked to or approached us during the stay. The house was nice, tidy, but there were a ton of bugs. We saw multiple roaches, ants, brown recluse spiders and moths and mosquitos inside of the house which we were not a fan of. Other than that, the host was nice and responsive. Still a 45min-1.5hr drive to the sequoias so might want to stay closer next time.
