Aloha! This guesthouse, built in 2020, is nestled on the slopes of Hualalai Mountain on a five acre family hobby farm. We love our location at a cool 2300 ft elevation, very close to Holualoa town, 15 minutes from downtown Kailua-Kona, the airport, and beaches. The space has a large covered upstairs lanai with an ocean view, comfortable queen bed, beautiful bathroom, bonus workspace, WiFi, Smart TV, kitchenette with tabletop oven, microwave, hotplate, full-sized fridge, and outdoor shower. Kanaho means sanctuary, refuge, relief. We truly believe that you will experience this feeling of respite as you enter this home away from home. We are off the beaten path, away from the central tourist areas. This unit is above our detached garage and gets beautiful mountain breezes as well as a stunning view. The space is quiet and private, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring or cuddling up with a cup of tea and a book. The property is on the quiet mountainside at 2300 ft elevation so can get cool and misty. You travel up a winding mountain road about five miles to reach us. You won’t be far from the exciting beaches and eateries of Kona and we do provide some basic beach accessories. Please note that this is a hosted Airbnb so our family will be present on property. We ask that if you are traveling with children that they be supervised at all times while here as we do have farming equipment and animals at different times of the year. In addition to our pets and livestock, you may encounter various forms of wildlife such as roaming cattle, wild pigs, chameleons, geckos, pheasants, turkeys, and birds. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the area and the flora and fauna! Please note that we have a strict no smoking policy: no smoking anywhere on property. This will be enforced by asking you to leave if this house rule is broken. For stays over 2 weeks long, there will be a mandatory cleaning every 2 weeks.
