Issues were handled considerably less well when reported via Whats App as opposed to the Airbnb app. This was disappointing to say the least because it made the host come across as disingenuous. Also the AC broke down and despite the many attempts they couldn’t get it fixed. We didn’t have a working AC for 10 days. They also couldn’t offer us an another apartment due to the fact that everything was fully booked. After I reported the issue to Airbnb, lo and behold, suddenly an apartment was available. Guess what, on the day that we where supposed to move to the other apartment they send us a different address then what was supposed to be our new apartment. When I called them I was told that when preparing the apartment they came to know that the AC there wasn’t working as well and thus they arranged another apartment without discussing with us. Fortunately they fixed the AC and we where picked up by a driver of the host which was really nice of them to arrange and dropped of at the apartment which was offered in the first place. Now if you think about it, what are the chances that from one day to the next suddenly not one but two apartments become available. Now I’m not saying they where lying or telling the truth. You be the judge of that. But I do advise you to report any difficulties to Airbnb and also communicate with the host only via the Airbnb app. If you do this you will find your stay enjoyable and your host compliant. What was very good of them is the fact that they gave us a 50% refund for the days without AC.
