Claregalway castle is an amazing place to stay. Our hosts John (and Gerry) were very welcoming, professional and accomodating. Rev attention to detail and the effort clearly taken to restore and uphold the unique and wonderful history of the Castle and the surroundings are simply amazing. Whilst you stay on one of the adjoining well appointed guest rooms to the castle in the main residence we were given free run of the castles tower which is decked out with period furnishings and artefacts that make the entire experience very unique and like you are in your own castle built in the 15th century. The restoration is something to behold and credit to the owners. We even had a red wine by ourselves inside the castle in the period perfect main hall room dining table which is truly a once on a lifetime experience and one we will never forget. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm, friendly and is highly recommend to anyone wishing to experience such a unique and rewarding experience.

We had a great stay at Claregalway castle! A 5 min walk from the bus station made transportation into the city easy while still allowing a private and quiet atmosphere being in the village. Our host Gerry was amazing, very friendly and helpful, and gave us an awesome tour of the castle tower and grounds! Our room was beautiful, clean and stocked with water and a bottle of wine. We had an amazing stay!

Before arriving to Claregalway Castle, my husband and I had already been in Ireland for about a week and stayed in several other AirBnBs throughout the country. With that being said and while we were met with gracious hosts and lovely cottages everywhere we stayed in Ireland, our experience at Claregalway Castle is by far second to none! The level of customer service and attention to detail by Gerry and John is as close to perfection as any will find in their travels. We always felt welcome and as if we were the only guests staying in the castle—the level of attention and service was just that excellent! Gerry gave us a lovely tour of the entire castle grounds and enlightened us with rich stories of the history behind the castle and some of the relics they’ve acquired over the years. He was pleasant and the most personable host we have ever encountered! Also, the Salmon room is luxurious, incredibly spacious and has lovely views. Thanks a million for such a magical memory of Ireland!

The history and experience here are unmatched by anything we experienced during our 10 day tour of Ireland taking us to many great accommodations across the country. The level of detail and effort of the historic renovation of a 15th century medieval castle is quite impressive while at the same also updating to have all the modern necessities that anyone would look for. The continental breakfast that was included was an added plus and gated privacy was great.

Stunning accommodation. The Salmon Room was peaceful & well-appointed. The bed was divine, felt so luxurious & exactly what you picture when you want to stay in a castle. Getting to explore the tower was so special & felt unreal— truly exactly what we wanted. Felt incredibly private & quiet, truly gorgeous. Thank you!
