I had a wonderful time staying at Nandini! From the terrace you can see snow capped Himmalayan peaks, crowds of green parakeets, and a lively village scene with cows and goats. The basic kitchen allows you to cook, and there is a little general store five minutes away. A bit up the road is the Norbulingka Institute, with many Tibetan restaurants and a more comprehensive vegetable matket. You should be clear that this is not in Dharamsala or Mcleodganj. It is a 20 min drive or taxi ride to Dharamsala and another 20 to Mcleodganj. That said, it is very quiet and peaceful. All you hear is a babbling stream, and no car horns. Also, the third story of the hotel is currently under construction, which is pretty loud when they are working. One final note is that the world famous Gyuto monastery is only about 15 min away and is well worth a visit.
