Welcome to Brooks Cabin, named for our Brooks ancestors who acquired the property in the late 1940s. A beautiful custom built 1900s log home, newly remodeled. Surrounded by farm animals on a Working farm, you’ll have the chance to see chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, barn cats and our livestock guardian dogs. It’s only minutes from the Appalachian Trail, in a spectacular and unique location with easy road access. Brooks Cabin has a stunning covered porch with dining table and seating area plus a large screened in porch so you can enjoy the great outdoors without the bugs! Enjoy our large patio area by the firepit while looking at gorgeous mountain views. Plan on outdoor grilling with your choice of gas or charcoal grills, (Gas provided, bring your own charcoal). Original hardwood floors throughout the cabin and comfortably sleeps 7 guests with 5 beds in 3 bedrooms. Our kitchen is fully stocked with full size equipment, K-cup and regular coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven and Fresh Farm Eggs. Relax in our cozy living room with a good book, TV time or family game night. Your fur-babies (pets) are welcome too. All bed linens and towels are provided. Easy car and motorcycle parking in a large area for 6 vehicles, large trucks and small trailers too (no transfer truck access). Need more space or looking for something a little smaller? Ask us about The Rosemary Cabin or Sage RV located just down the road at our plant nursery.

I have already recommended Danni’s space to friends and family. It was a magical weekend with my family and it will be a weekend to remember for a lifetime.

This place is great! A group of 5 of us went to have a girls weekend, it was wonderful! The cabin is adorable and the little farm there makes for perfect scenery and fun. There is enough room to comfortably sleep 7, and no one had to share a bed which was nice. Danni was super friendly and helpful, too. There’s not a ton to do in the area, but we came mostly to enjoy the hot springs which is only a short drive away. It was a great time and a great place t lo stay!

We loved Danni's place generally. The house was clean, there was plenty of space for our children, and our pets were able to come and enjoy it with us. That said, there were two things to be aware of (one is entirely out of her control). First, all the bed mattresses were fairly newish but offered little to no support. If you put one knee on the bed, it sunk down nearly to the bottom. I'm used to a firm mattress, but these provided noticeably less support than even what you would have at a hotel. I was not the only one to wake up with back pain because of the mattresses. Second, the road from her place to Hot Springs, NC is the windiest, curviest, most demanding road I have ever driven on. It's straight out of a Hollywood plot, and you will not appreciate just how windy it is unless you zoom way in on your maps app. GPS lies that the speed limit is 55, the road signs say 35mph, and we were generally under 25mph. There are also big signs limiting trucks to 30ft or less on the road.

We brought the whole family (3 kids and the dog) up during our spring break. The cabin was charming and even better in person. I loved that the wraparound porch was fully gated and we could watch the farm animals so easily. We got to pet and feed the animals too, including a 3 day old lamb! I wished it hadn't been so cold, but the plus was that we got to see snow up in the higher elevations, like at Max Patch. Had it been warmer we could have enjoyed the outdoors more. The hot tub was also amazing and awesome to relax in. Can't wait to come back!!
