We loved our stay. The kids had so much fun in the gym and there were plenty of places to sleep. The kitchen had 3 large refrigerators and tons of space for sitting and enjoying each others company.
Upside: The place was a good experience for a family with various ages (1 year to 93 years). The entire facility is fairly accessible depending on ability. There are some stairs. A lot of space to spread out. The hosts were great about response and suggestions. There were plenty of towels, bedding, and amenities. Two ovens and three fridges was amazing!! While the place is old it is fairly accurate to the pictures. The checkout process was way easier than most places we’ve stayed previously. Not a lot of clean up required which allowed for a quicker exit to hit the road. Downside: The gym and activity room is above three bedrooms, kitchen, and living room so there was a lot of pounding gym noise. There isn’t any outside grass or play area. There is no air conditioning so it gets a bit warm in there. Overall, a fun place for a family getaway.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience. We had 55 people ranging in age from infant to elderly, and we all fit, which is rare and significant. Josh and Alysha ALWAYS responded quickly. Alysha took the time before our trip to review the rooms with me to make sure we placed each family in the ideal room. We never felt cramped. The kids loved the arcade and gym and only emerged for meals and snacks. It was noisy at times, especially under the gym. Plan to bring a fan or white noise machine. The chapel area was great for group games & talent show. There were books to read, toys for the kids, and plenty of spaces for adults to gather. The place was very clean. Bathrooms were sufficient for our group; we expected to be sharing restrooms and it was not a problem at all. We had enough linens, beds, & cots. It was blazing hot outside, so around midday it was quite warm in some areas of the building. We stayed in the basement and used box fans. Easiest reunion I have ever planned!
This place was FANTASTIC!! We used it for our family reunion and everyone had a total blast! They have taken such great care of the place and it's just lovely and very unique and fun. Alysha was so easy to communicate with and was so quick to respond to my questions. We had a ball and can't wait to book it again on our next Lava Hot Springs family reunion.
Our large family had a blast and made so many memories while staying here! The kids were kept entertained so the adults could relax and visit! Joshua and Alysha were quick to respond to any questions or concerns.
