We felt immediately at home in this beautiful oasis! Gentle breezes, foggy mornings where we could hear the local lighthouse horn. Sitting in the porch & hearing whales blow as they went by & seeing porpoises play. Very comfortable accommodations, possibly the best we have ever enjoyed. The main bedroom is large and very comfortable, lovely sitting area. Upstairs a comfortable loft, & there are an additional two rooms on the main floor. Our children were comfortable their rooms! We visited Roosevelt's Campobello home twice. Lovely parks & beaches on the island to explore. Loved walking to the lighthouse during low tide, don't miss that adventure! We went whale watching in Lubec, Maine, & from house we watched the whale watching boats watching the whales. The yard is large & our dogs loved romping around. We used the hammock & fire pit but you need bug spray to combat the mosquitoes, so bring plenty. Enjoyed going to The Pier for dinner. Highly recommend! Dennis is a perfect host!

There are many good things to be said about this cottage. The newly added master bedroom is nothing short of spectacular! It is the size of a nice hotel room, with an electric fireplace, and an awesome view. The washer/dryer is a major plus. We were intrigued by the historic items on the walls and my husband enjoyed a book about FDR. Though we enjoyed our stay, we felt that some things in this cottage ( like throw pillows, drinkware, and towels ) could be replaced or do with a good cleaning. We were surprised when the owner knocked on the door the first night at 8:30 to check on us. Usually owners greet us in the driveway or check on us by text. As other reviewers, we were amazed by the view (even in foggy weather). We are bird watchers and we enjoyed watching the Bald Eagles and seabirds right from the porch.

Spent a week mid June at the Starfish Cottage and it was a peaceful, cozy place to stay with views to die for! The combo bedroom/living room with its view out to the bay was our favorite spot in the house. A wooded path lead to a rocky point for up close views of sea life passing by. We saw minke whales, porpoise, seals and yes, a breaching humpback off the right side of the island in front of the cottage! Great spot to view sunsets as well! Lots of great hiking on and off the island nearby. The Porch had great breakfasts, the Prince had great lunch and the Pier had great dinner. Gift shop had a friendly owner and lots of local crafts. Grocery store had basics, IGA in Lubec had more. Dennis was a great host and we would highly recommend a stay!

The cottages has a magnificent view. Is very private and very cozy. We absolutely enjoy our stay.
