This is a beautiful historic property, we loved all the old touches. The huge kitchen had a fireplace that was clearly used for cooking in days gone by. We took advantage of the nice trail right out the front door, as well as proximity to Altoona and fun activities there. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were clean.

Rachel (and John) were excellent hosts! The house was lovely and very cozy. I came with a group of six friends over new years and we enjoyed a very fun weekend cooking, hiking, and singing karaoke at the house. The kitchen was well-stocked and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The surrounding area was lovely- the nearby towns were sweet- and we hiked the canoe creek state park loop nearby. John and Rachel were super communicative throughout our visit. Would definitely return! Thanks so much!

Beautiful, comfortable, historic home, like staying in a comfy mansion, very well stocked and so clean. Kitchen was great, large, nice fridge, cooktop, table and island with stools were great for our large family breakfast. The beds were great, sheet, linens high quality. Gorgeous views from the windows. So very quiet at night. Only thing we'd change was the Keurig, for a larger one with a reservoir to keep up with everyone. We appreciated the bottled water in the fridge. Rachel was a courteous, responsive host, fantastic.

Rachel’s place was perfect. She was gracious enough to allow us to have our wedding at the house. It was the perfect location for our small ceremony on the front porch and cookout in the yard. We had family from out of town stay with us and the house had everything we needed for the week as well as plenty of space. It’s a lovely historic home with plenty of charm and the hosts are wonderful to communicate with. I’d highly recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat!

This house was the perfect stay for a wedding nearby. The kids had fun exploring the house and found it so interesting. It was well stocked with everything we needed for our short visit. The hosts were very responsive to any questions and issues that arose.
