Ilona and Mitch were incredible hosts, and couldn’t have done more to ensure we were happy and comfortable during our stay. We originally booked the glamping pods, but changed to the shepards hut with short notice and they couldn’t have been more accommodating at short notice. The cabin was incredibly furnished and excellent condition, the bed and linen was on par with 5* hotels, and the log burner kept us toasty despite the freezing cold weather. The outside bathtub was an incredible feature and definitely one of our favourite parts of the trip. The cabin is super remote with beautiful views and incredible walks. Mitch had lots of restaurant recommendations which was very helpful, and I would highly recommend the Three Crowns in Chagford, only a 25 min drive away. Could not fault ilona or Mitch for their hospitality, and their cabin was absolutely perfect. We can’t wait to return! X

I booked the Fern tent last minute as I wanted to get away from the city.. I was craving a retreat in the wild and this place definitely delivered that!!! There were 4 of us & a dog - my daughter (16), her friend (16), my son (12). We thought that the fold out beds would be too small for the 2 older kids, so we bought a blow up mattress with us. We wasted our time bringing it though - the fold up beds are really big and comfy (2 x large singles). The kids loved the ‘spaceship’ feel of the big arched window panes. The double bed was the comfiest mattress ever and the addition of a heated blanket was pure bliss! We LOVED the privacy, we saw no one else at all! (That’s the way we like it). The outside areas are glorious - a pond, fire pit, bbq, shelter, decking area and wood fired bath! It’s beautiful by day & when the sun goes down it gets really magical with all the fairy lights. We’re already planning our next visit and can’t wait to be back. Thanks Ilona for hosting us!!

My partner and I had a lovely weekend staying at Fern. We went away for my boyfriends birthday and this was the perfect retreat in the countryside. I would highly recommend staying in Fern.

We stayed for 3 nights in one of the Domes, and all I can say is that it was perfect. So peaceful, had everything you could possibly need. It was a real getaway from day to day life, with the wonderful woodland bath, and scenic woodland path. We sat by the fire pit in the evenings until dark and then headed inside to watch the stars in the night sky. The bed was so comfortable, with a heated blanket and heater if needed. All I can say is thank you, and we hope to be back again in the future.

Really lovely little place to stay! Outdoor bath was great fun and toasty once it had heated up! Decent facilities, more than enough kitchen bits and bobs to cook with, would definitely recommend and come back again!
