Accommodation perfect For a quiet get away

Positives: This is a very, very nice airbnb. Big, very well appointed and equipped, modern, new, in a gated community, very quiet, no traffic, away from the loud city. Apart from the washer and the generator, everything else worked reliably. We enjoyed the big TV set. Internet was good with occasional glitches. Interruptions of electricity were rare and lasted only a few minutes each time. Water pressure good, hot water available instantly through electric heaters. Mosquito panels in all windows, as well as sturdy iron bars for safety. The four AC’s all worked fine, and they were clean (I’m allergic to mould). We used the main bed, which is very big and equipped with a super comfortable mattress, something like memory foam. Kitchen fully equipped. Communication by phone with the owner Charles (we haven’t met) and in person with the local caretaker Victor was good and friendly. Guests must buy credits for electricity and internet themselves, it’s not too expensive and Victor is helpful with the practicalities for this upon check in. Lastly, the price was reasonable. We wanted peace and isolation to work on a book project, and it was the perfect choice for us. Negatives: Although we were happy during our stay and extended from 1 week to 2 weeks, there are a few negative items future guests with different needs from ours should consider: 1. Before booking we had asked and were assured explicitly that the washer and the generator worked. In reality the washer and the generator did not work and were never repaired until we left, in spite of daily promises for the opposite. 2. Similarly, because of the far out location we had asked and were assured that it is easy to find Uber or similar for transportation and for food delivery. In reality it was impossible, although we used all 4 local e-hailing apps. So a simple super market run some 15’ away by car was a major difficulty. 3. The listing is advertised “with car”. However as it was revealed only after the booking the car is not included in the price, it costs $30 per day plus $20 per day for driver (optional) and there is one week minimum duration. This arrangement may work for many, for us it didn’t. These terms should be included in detail in the listing so prospective guests can make an informed decision. 4. Lastly, no towels were provided, on the grounds of “protection from allergies” (?!). It’s a pity, because it’s a matter of pennies to provide some, but quite inconvenient for travellers. But again, otherwise a very good airbnb.

The best Airbnb we have stayed in. Location is relaxing and peaceful. The house is cute and clean. Pictures are 100% accurate. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Including access to a private car and drive; highly recommended!

Come to Ghana quite frequently. Wanted to try something away from the busy city. Love the serene location. Views of mountains right outside the door steps. Situated in a cup de sac. Hence, no foot traffic. Place is spacious and clean. Had a wonderful and very responsive host. Will definitely be rebooking in a few months
