East Pelion: beaches

1.Plaka Beach 7.2 km (16m) – The colour of the sea because of the green around is turquoise. Worth to visit and there are few beach bars on the beach.
2.Banikas Beach - 7.3 km – (17m) The small but beautiful beach is perfect for those that want to be away from the crowds. There are no cafes and restaurants around so better to be prepared beforehand.
3. Agios Ioannis Beach 8 km (17m) – It is worth to visit during the day and during the night because of the Bars and restaurants around.
4. Papa Nero Beach 8 km - Very beautiful beach right next to Agios Ioannis beach. – You can walk from the parking of Agios Ioannis – through the camping area (10min) and you will reach the beach. There are beach bars and restaurants at the beach.
5. Agioi Saranda Beach 9.3 km (20m)– Beautiful beach with very good beach bars.
6. Damouchari Beach 12.8 km - The small Harbour and the beach are giving you Island vibes and are worth to visit. (27m)
7. Mylopotamos Beach 16.7 km (32m) –One of the most famous beaches in Pelion. Also, just next to Mylopotamos there is another beach that is worth to visit / There are a lot of cafes and restaurants to visit around the beach. (Our suggestion is to visit the beach during weekdays because during the weekend is very crowded during full season July/August).
8. Fakistra Beach 15.6 km (30m)- One of the most beautiful beaches in Pelion famous of the crystal-clear turquoise colour of the sea. From the parking you will have to walk 20 min to the beach. There are no restaurants or cafes at the beach so it’s good to be prepared beforehand. – Bonus point there is a short hike (20min) starting from the parking of the beach to the small cave-church that is said that during the Turkish occupation it was used as school to learn Greek.
9. Horefto Beach 12.4 km (27m) - The biggest sand beach in East Pelion with a lot of restaurants cafes and bars for the night around.
10. Limnionas beach 20.9 km (40m)- This beach is quite far if you compare to the other beaches but the breath-taking views from the village of Xorychti until you reach the beach is worth it. We do not recommend driving all the way to the beach by car because the road is not made for city cars. From one point you will need to leave the car and walk until the beach (20-30 min walk)
11.Elitsa beach 15,1km (40m)- This beach is located at the last village ‘Pouri’ of Eastern Pelion and offers a unique view of eastern Pelion, the Aegean and Halkidiki. This beach is quite far but worth the visit for those that do not like the crowds.

The best way to travel in Pelion is to have your own car. There are pleny of parking places everywhere.
