excellent location was walking distance to every thing, the apartment was very and tidy, parking in the Garage was very handy.
This is a decent option since it is in walking distance to everything in Santiago de Compostela. The apartment, overall, is good. The beds are comfortable and everything is as it appears in the description. I would note, however, that the thermostat is covered by a plastic cube screwed into the wall, preventing the guest from changing the temperature. Our stay was in late June, and it was easy to cool off the apartment by opening the windows so not having access to the thermostat was not an issue. Nevertheless, the shutters in the main bedroom drop down on the inside of the window, which means that the balcony door, which opens inward, cannot be left open at night to let air into the room unless the shutters are up, which lets in a lot of light. By morning, the room was hot and stuffy. Otherwise, the apartment worked pretty well for our needs. *Important: the apartment belongs to a company that rents out apartments to tourists and the arrival process is set up to be as hands-off for the company as possible, which is problematic. I received an automated message via Airbnb the day before our arrival instructing me to go to a website to do the check in. The process was extremely time-consuming and in the end did not work. It asked me to type in all of my personal information, upload images of the front and back of my passport, upload a picture of me that matched that of my passport, and sign my name on a screen in a manner that matched my passport (ridiculous). There were glitches, and after 45 minutes I gave up and wrote to Monica on the Airbnb platform but got no response. A few hours later (now late into the night), I tried it again from my phone, which took about thirty minutes, and it worked. However, I then had to register each of the other guests using the same process. Unfortunately, when registering my wife the system reported an error on the first screen and wouldn't let me advance. After two more tries and emailing the link to my wife, for her to try from her phone, we gave up after receiving the same error report over and over again. This took about an hour. None of the several messages that I sent to Monica on the Airbnb platform during this process received an answer--ever. When I sent an email to the company that owns the apartment, the response from them was that they had already sent me the instructions to check-in twice, and nothing further. I finally got a response from Monica after finding her on WhatsApp and texting her. I had to explain to her what I was experiencing, now for the third time, and at that point she asked me to just send her the required photos, which I did. Still, she did not send me the code for the door. Instead, she instructed me to contact her upon arrival and she would unlock the main door to the building remotely. We stood in the rain at the entrance of the building for five minutes after texting her that we arrived. Once inside the building, I received the instructions on how to retrieve the key, which I would have loved to have the previous day, for peace of mind (or at the very least a response to my several inquiries, with an indication that I would receive the code on arrival). Everything about the process was unduly stressful and time consuming, especially since we were on vacation and had a sightseeing itinerary to follow. Moreover, the process clearly violates Airbnb's policy of using their platform for all communication between host and guest. I now know why this policy exists and hope that the company will decide to follow it in the future and get rid of the third-party website to verify documents. Not responding to messages received on the Airbnb platform is completely unacceptable, as is requiring the use of a third-party website to verify documents. For these reasons, I recommend going elsewhere lest you want to risk the hassle.
