Bramble Cottage is one of two self-catering cottages on Labdon Farm Estate in the idyllic Devon countryside. It is old stone built, beamed with Inglenook fireplace, original Bread Oven, and complete with Log Burner. We have our own woods, footpaths and streams for the nature lovers. If you walk quietly, you may see Deer grazing at the edge of our woodland, which also provides a wonderful habitat for Pheasants and Woodcocks. Close to villages, pubs, and restaurants, and 45 minutes from the coast.
Only a 2 day stay en route to a festival in Devon, but this was perfect for a family of 5. Keith was a lovely host and we felt at home straight away. Everything worked well in the cottage and the advice we were given for local shops was spot on. Keith even provided a map and talked me through it. much appreciated. Highly recommended to get away from it all and a lovely cottage. Only a smart TV would have added to it so the kids could watch their favourites, but all in all we were very pleased. Thank you Keith!
Bramble Cottage is situated in Labdon Farm Estate along with our other self-catering cottage, Jasmine Cottage. The owners of the property reside just up the road at Labdon Farm.
We have our own woods footpaths and streams for the nature lovers; both Bridle and Cycle ways are close by without the need to use public roads. If you walk quietly, you may see Deer grazing at the edge of our woodland, which also provides a wonderful habitat for the Pheasants and Woodcocks.
Every summer the Swallows return to Labdon Farm, seeking out their old nesting sites in and around the old stone barns and stables. Buzzards are also frequently seen in pairs riding the thermals calling to their young
In spring, the banks and hedgerows are rich with Snowdrops, Primroses, Violets, and Bluebells. In early summer, Foxgloves, and Cow Parsley. Later you will find scented Honeysuckle, Dog Roses, Rosehips, and Blackberries.
Within walking distance, our beautiful 14th Century Eggesford Church watching over its River Taw equally famous for Salmon and Tarka the Otter, for the really energetic the Tarka Trail will allow you miles of meandering walks many along the banks of the River Taw.
Restaurants, pubs and cafes can be found in Eggesford and the neighbouring villages
