Historic homes line Ridge Avenue--enjoy a walk through history (For example, on Pine Street, see steps from when horses and carriages were the mode of transportation). A city park across the street is quiet in winter months, but livens during warmer months. Enjoy a hotdog from the concession stand and watch local youth standouts in summer or enjoy a quiet picnic under the shelter in the cooler months. You can also take a short walk to University of the Cumberlands or downtown Williamsburg, where you'll find eateries and a coffee shop (less than half a mile, or 9 minute walk).

There is free parking in the lot across from the cottage. Though we live in a walkable neighborhood, many people choose to drive to UC's main campus or downtown. We enjoy doing both! If you're here as a UC graduate student with classes at the Templeton-Adams Hall (1.2 miles away), which isn't on the main campus, we recommend the use of a car.
