Each cottage is set upon its own 3/4 acre space. Each cottage is nestled within trees and each have their own private lakefront. The cottages are situated on Lake Manitou in an area referred to by locals as Green Bay. Green Bay is a quiet, mostly sandy bay. The bay is great for canoeing and kayaking as it it shallow. Green Bay is located amongst forest area and farming land. There are a few permanent residents in the area as well as many seasonal cottages. This area is about 15-20 minutes from Little Current. We suggest that when you pass through Little Current you pick up your groceries, spirits and beer, medications, and anything else you might need there before you check-in to the cottage. Local businesses are often closed on Sundays and after regular business hours, so make sure you call ahead if you are not going to be shopping during common hours to ensure that you are not disappointed! Local businesses may not carry specialty items, so make sure you pack less common things that you might need or want. The cottage property is situated near a small community beach that cottagers sometimes enjoy using. The road we are on is a tar and chip road, meaning it is paved, but it is roughly paved. It is a back road and good for distance biking, but I would not recommend it for children to bike on unless supervised with adults. The main road is not near the cottages as they are set back at the back edge of our property. The nearest restaurant is called Green Acres restaurant in Sheguiandah. It is a greasy spoon Ma and Pa kind of place. It is about 10 minutes away. There is also a super cute pizza place called 'Matt's Pizza' about 5 minutes away where our friend Matt makes wood fired homemade pizza's. It is located at 3499 Bidwell Rd. and is open Thursday's to Sunday's from 11am - 6:00pm. Please be PATIENT! Matt can get very busy and making these pizza's takes time! The Cup and Saucer hiking trail is ten minutes away and is very, very popular for good reason. The hiking is very doable, but there are a few steep stairs. Views are spectacular. It takes about 45 minutes to hike up at a regular pace and 45 minutes to hike back down.
