丹维尔(Danville) · 客用套房里的独立房间 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Victorian King Rm in charming Historic District
Relish your stay in a delightful 1890's Victorian Home in a lovely walkable historic district. Enjoy a spacious King-sized private bedroom plus a private bath on the 2nd floor. You will also share a very large eat-in kitchen and a large parlor on the first, floor which is shared with the host, the kitties and one other guest room. Animal lovers will adore the kitties on the front porch and on the first floor, but they are not permitted in the Foyer or upper floors.
Such a beautiful stay. House was fantastic, great location, clean, comfortable and SueEllen was the best house host you could ever ask for. We are already planning a trip to come back again.
Beautiful historic house where we felt immediately welcome. Walkable to a cute cafe and an art museum. It was also about 3 minutes drive to the river and good restaurants. SueEllen went out of her way to make us feel at home!
SueEllen’s bedroom with bath down the hall worked well for my husband and me on our weekend visit to Danville. It is close to good eateries and a museum. Her older home had very efficient AC and plenty of hot water, and she was very responsive to all our requests—when the coffee machine didn’t work she replaced it immediately.
Very nice stay, I had a job I was on and had to leave early each morning. I did not stay there very much but the time that I did stay it was comfy and nice.
The "Old West End" is a lovely Historic District filled with many beautiful Victorian, Queen Anne, and Colonial homes. "Millionaires Row" is just a few doors down (in Old West End) and shows off all of the Grandest Mansions. You will see many people out walking their dogs, walking for exercise, or just walking on their way here or there. The people of Danville are the kindest, friendliest people I've had the pleasure of meeting.
My home is just a very short walk to Crema & Vine (a chic café/wine bar), MidTown Market (a quaint historic neighborhood grocery), The Danville Art & History Museum, and King Cropp Restaurant. Many more Restaurants, Shops, & Brew Pubs are just a bit further, but still quite walkable. And it's only 2 blocks from SOVAH Health Hospital Center. The Beautiful new YMCA overlooking the Dan River is just over one mile away. All other major commercial shopping is just across the River and just a 5-8 minute drive to reach anywhere in Danville.
The neighborhood itself is quite walkable, in fact, you will see many of my neighbors out and about walking their dogs or just walking to the store. There is plenty of free parking on the street out front (see pics) and in my cobblestone driveway. If you don't have a car, don't worry. As I said, many places are easily walkable, but there are public scooters usually placed within one or 2 blocks, plus a wonderful Bus system that stops just 3 doors down.
自我介绍
I believe in helping our fellow man (and critters) in need at every opportunity. That's why I love hosting travelers from every walk of life, every age, every race, every nationality, every gender and every ability. (Unfortunately, my house does have stairs, so I’m unable to accommodate wheelchairs.) I feed a small colony of friendly feral kitties on my porches and a few like to come inside sometimes. With a little encouragement, they will warmly "welcome you" and "supervise" all the activities that you will allow. They are curious and friendly, but have not mastered doorknobs, so there is a reprieve, should you need it. We hope to attract cat friendly guests, though. Personally, I love live music, dance, art, hiking reading and gardening. I am also friendly and welcome questions, great conversation and good company, but am also very respectful if you desire privacy.
