L'appartement est grand et agréable, a une vue fantastique et sa localisation est très pratique. En revanche, il y manque plusieurs petites choses pour s'y installer pleinement: une seule serviette, un seul rouleau de papier toilette pour 6 jours et seulement du savon pour les mains (pas de shampoing, gel douche). Dans la cuisine, il n'y a ni thé ni café, ni sucre. Aissatou est très disponible et nous avons apprécié la flexibilité pour l'entrée et la sortie des lieux. A noter que l'électricité est avancée (c'est-à-dire qu'il y en avait à notre arrivée) mais il faut la remplacer en rechargeant le compteur.

Aïssatou is a very kind and communicative host who will go the extra mile. The place was stocked with lots of towels and kitchen essentials. And she answered every call I made to her and tried to get an address to any issue in the apartment. She really did her best but the problems with the accommodation may have been beyond her control. It is in a convenient area with a good view. However, I felt like location was all that’s being paid for. The apartment itself is very poorly constructed and designed. To get to the building entrance guests must walk down a steep driveway. I was with my 80 yr old mother. This presented a difficulty for us to have to go up and down that long hill when going in and out. Also when getting off of the elevator there is a huge step up to get out. It’s kind of bizarre and hazardous. The hallways are flooded with mosquitos that you can’t keep from entering the apartment which means the apartment also had many mosquitos. Some of the screens have holes and the back door to the balcony didn’t close properly (something we discovered the last night of our stay). So, there is no way to keep them out. We spent nights battling them in order to try to sleep in peace. While the view was lovely in part of the ocean, the other Part of the view is a construction site and a busy highway. Obviously this is both noisy and unpleasant to view. Also relating to the view, the windows are absolutely filthy from the outside. In order to really have a pleasant view you’d have to open the windows which we didn’t do because of all of the mosquitos and it was very hot in Dakar during our stay. They should be cleaned. The WiFi never worked properly during our stay. There is no modem in the unit and after asking for help several times we finally gave up. This was a big problem as we use WiFi calling and had work to do that required it. The modem Is being shared by other units because when you went into the hallway you would pick up a better signal. The air conditioning in our room didn’t work the first day and had to be repaired. The last day it stopped working in the living room. The toilet seat in one of the bathrooms was completely broken off from the hinges, the other was partially off. We only reported one toilet seat and it was replaced with a seat too small for that toilet. There was mold in the bathroom sinks and in the grouting. Some of the kitchen cabinets were broken. The maid was also not the best. We don’t wear shoes in the house and even the day she cleaned it was impossible to not feel under foot and to keep feet/socks from turning black. She also neglected cleaning mirrors and bathrooms. There was a lot of lack of attention to detail—such as lightbulbs out, etc. And lastly, the interior design was problematic. The living room is quite small and the furniture really only accommodates 2 people comfortably. There should be another or bigger sofa as the space sleeps 4 and there were 4 of us. Because of the WiFi issues TV watching was limited as well. And there was just huge empty space in the bedrooms that could be filled with furniture, bigger closet, warm rugs. The paint job was even sloppy. The place is just cold and not well thought out. Plenty of space for a bigger more functioning kitchen but it’s not used. White walls with no art. I do like the lighting in the space however. It can switch from warm to cool in all of the rooms. A nice touch. Because of Aïssatou and her sweetness I’d like to recommend but can’t. No one wants to spend vacation dealing with maintenance people running in and out or having to repeatedly call the host about the same issues. It was very uncomfortable outside of location but has the potential to be much nicer with more care and willingness to invest a bit more.

Amazing place with a breathtaking view. Definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Dakar.
