Kirkfield · 整套乡村小屋 · 3室4床1.0卫 · 可住6人 · Bright cottage with sunset views & sauna
Step into our charming cottage, a blend of timeless allure and modern comforts (including high-speed internet!). Built-in 1947, it retains its cheerful charm with modern renovations. Inside, find 3 cozy bedrooms, an open lounge with wood stove, a well-equipped kitchen, and a sunroom flooding the space with light. The loft offers a scenic west-facing lake view. Outside, enjoy a fire pit, screened gazebo, wood-fired sauna, boathouse with canoe/kayak, and a spacious dock. The cottage is a modern interpretation on the classic cottage, whilst still retaining its strong connection to the main features of the building when it was first built in 1947 - like the tongue-in-groove pine walls, wooden beams, and gambrel-style ceiling. Recently, we have made some upgrades to enhance the cottage. Now, you'll find beautiful hardwood floors that add to the charm of the space. Additionally, we have added the second-floor loft area with gorgeous views over the lake, perfect for taking in the scenic beauty. You can also enjoy the new screened-in porch, where you can relax and enjoy the fresh air away from the sun and bugs! Guests are welcomed into the warm and welcoming open-concept living area by the woodstove fireplace. The cosy lounge area has plenty of comfortable seating to enjoy with your family and friends and comes complete with a vinyl player (and records!), TV (with chromecast to connect your devices), and board games. The stairs take guests up to the second floor loft area that has a dormer window with stunning views over the lake. The kitchen is small, yet efficient, and comes equipped with a farmers washbasin, 4 burner stove top, fridge, freezer, coffee maker (both drip and french press), toaster oven, toaster, and all the usual pots, pans, and utensils required for cooking a delicious meal. We also supply oil, salt, pepper, and other spices that you need for cooking. There is also a BBQ and gas available outside on the deck. The bedrooms each have comfortable beds and come equipped with fans and heaters. Two bedrooms have stunning views over the lake, while the other has a larger space with a cute reading nook. The sunroom is the perfect spot for morning coffee or relaxing with a glass of wine while watching the sunset over the lake. It also doubles as a dining area. Open the windows at night and you'll hear the loons calling to each other. The bathroom is small, yet has everything a typical bathroom contains including a shower, toilet, and washbasin with a mirror. Outside, you'll find our wood-burning sauna, large deck area with a BBQ, table, and seating. Right alongside that we have the screened-in porch tucked away in the trees. On the north side of the property, you'll find the firepit that can be fueled with logs from the fire stack behind the cottage. The boathouse down by the water has a canoe, kayak, and inflatables for use while swimming. The water is shallow, so it's perfect for swimming.
We had a great stay at Justin’s cottage! The cottage was as described. Great sunsets, and the sauna was a nice bonus.
We recently stayed at Justin’s cottage for a bachelorette weekend and had a great time. Cute, cozy, rustic cabin right on the water. Justin had added a loft to the space since we had booked which was a super cool addition! We were a group of 6 and found that there was tons of space for all of us. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to use the wood sauna - but something for our next stay for sure! 🙂 Justin was a very responsive host and touched base with us during check in and a couple times throughout our stay to make sure things were going smoothly. Would definitely recommend staying here!
I stayed four days at Justin’s cottage. It was easy to find, easy to get in and felt right at home. Everything you could ever need is there. Justin is easy to reach and very helpful. The sauna is a wonderful touch. The firepit and barbecue are great. I can not say enough about the lake. It’s just a nice size and not deep, so it’s quite warm. It’s shallow by the dock and great for kids. If you’re new to kayaking this is a great spot to try it out as it’s quite calm. I will miss it all and hope to go back!!
We had a wonderful time at Justin’s cottage! It was so cozy and peaceful. Would definitely go back.
