Very nice. Would stay again
Nice location with the view on the river Dart. The terrace in front of the house is just brilliant. Love it! As location itself - not busy, a good walkable distance to Kingswear castle, which seems to be skipped by majority of tourists. Its quite convenient to commute from here back to Paignton, as the steam train station is just nearby. You dont need to cross the river for that, what is a huge bonus. House itself was surprisingly warm in beginning of April. And it was cosy as well. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful break for a few days. The cottage was clean, comfortable and homely. It provided us with a base for visiting places in Devon and we came back in the evening tired and happy to sit down and relax. Great meals in local pubs. And the view of the River Dart was spectacular. Thanks.
Lovely cottage high above the main street with beautiful views up the estuary across the harbour to Dartmouth and up river, sunset direction! The terrace with the views is in front of the house across shared access to other cottages so it is not private but the neighbours seemed nice. The house is compact but nice and simply presented, quite a hike up very steep steps to get to it but we were warned and so worth it for the views. It is a two up two down with the kitchen at the back, not much light as it’s on a steep hill, and the kitchen is a bit rustic but well equipped…take your own Nespresso pods! Wonderful crisp white bed linen, very comfortable beds and good hot shower. Weather was wet and cold and the place warmed up really quickly. Highly recommend if you want to explore the area with easy access to ferries to Dartmouth a few minutes away and wonderful walking on both sides of river.
The cottage was exactly as described and has a great location. We were warned about the 80 steps which are well lit at night and have hand rails. The views were incredible too! Communication was excellent and the hosts were extremely helpful. Loved the cottage and it’s location. Thank you for a good stay.
