The location of Thomas's place is amazing with complete ocean & mountain views. It is set in a quiet village about half hour drive from Cairns. As a family of 4 adults, we had a nice stay here over Christmas. All our needs were well catered for, except there is no air conditioning in the main living area, only in the bedrooms. As local visitors, we found the heat in the house quite uncomfortable. There are ceiling fans but most of them only worked on low speed. There are great glass shutters throughout to capture the sea breeze but the breeze was only hot & humid. The community lost power for about 4 hours on Boxing Day morning which also exacerbated the heat in the house. In saying that, the house itself is a great, beachy retreat with nice coastal decor. We found the bedding very comfy. There were heaps of board games & a massive movie collection to enjoy. The wifi was good as were all the appliances. The deck & pool were great. And we loved that our senior doggo could accompany us.

Thomas’ place was great and just what we needed. Being pet friendly was such a benefit as we could bring our dogs along with us on holiday. The house was clean and well presented. It was perfect for two of us. Despite a slight issue with the pool, that didn’t stop it being used, the house was exactly like the photos. It was relaxing and we woke up to the sounds of native birds every morning. The house is a decent drive out of town, and set in an area that requires you to have a car to see any attractions. This didn’t bother us and was what we were looking for, but for people that want to see more of cairns and do more in a day, you will need a car. Would recommend and stay again.

Beautiful location, house was fantastic for a getaway away if you are looking for something out of town and away from usual tourist hot spots. Whilst not remote, take food and supplies with you or buy from gordonvale on way through as is a 20 minute drive back . We loved our stay.
