We had a wonderful stay in Dunsmuir at the butterfly cottage. It’s walking distance to a few local shops and a bakery. Stores don’t open till Wednesday for specialty shops but the grocery store was also lovely. Definitely a small town for sure but the cutest most beautiful one I’ve seen. The cottage was wonderful and when it snowed we were able to sled with the sleds and have a warm fire at night.
Amazing house.. so cozy! It was perfect for one last family scape before NYE. The house is beautiful, a lot of board games inside, a big patio and super happy that is pet friendly :) we are hoping to come again one day.

My family have called Northern California our home for decades and we wouldn’t live anywhere else. We love our endless trails, mountain lakes and rivers, and generally love being outside. We enjoy hosting our little getaway bungalow in Dunsmuir, as well as visiting other unique Airbnb’s around the world.
