Nestled on a high point with dramatic views over the Teifi valley and river, Caban Teifi is a cosy and well equipped base for two (+ one dog) from which to explore beautiful West Wales. The private gravelled garden is securely fenced to a height of three feet and is a tranquil area for you and your canine companion to relax and enjoy the birdsong. As the only guests on site you will also have sole access to a further two, one acre paddocks, one of which is fully fenced to a height of one metre. Compact she may be but Caban Teifi has all that you need for a cosy and enjoyable stay no matter the season. A few modern luxuries are mixed with quirky features to ensure that your stay is as comfortable as it is memorable. The shower has hot water on demand and the bed is just asking to be snuggled into at the end of the day. The kitchenette has a full sized fridge, a two ring ceramic hob and a microwave. Outside there is a choice of seating, plump up a cushion on the decking directly outside the door or pull a chair up to the table in your own garden area. Both are perfect places to admire the view, look out for wildlife, or just watch a different world go by for a while. Caban Teifi is is our only unit so you will have the whole place to yourselves, with two acres of open space, including a fully fenced paddock with fun agility course for your dog to enjoy.
This was a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of London. The surroundings are quiet and the view from the garden is just beautiful. I was easily able to drive to different towns and sites around southern Wales from this central spot, although there’s also plenty to see and do right there as well. It was exactly what I was looking for in a quiet country stay. My dog and I felt so welcome, thank you Liz and Matt!
Nothing short of fantastic. Despite the cabin's modest footprint, everything is well appointed, spotlessly clean and awash with a host of really thoughtful innovations. The area surrounding the cabin is breathtaking and the grounds are beautifully kept and maintained. The hard work and dedication that have gone into making this a perfect little haven is plainly evident wherever you look. Matt and Liz have have created something really unique and I cannot recommend CabanTeifi highly enough. We will be back!
The perfect pod!! Couldn’t have been better. Fabulously thought out. For a small space it really didn’t feel like it. Lovely peaceful surroundings. Loved the tranquility and feel of the place. This property definitely exceeded my expectations. The fully fenced dog paddock was a winner. Would love to return for another stay. : ).
What can we say apart from WOW! The fact you get so much of land to roam on is incredible. The views are second to none. Even if the weather isn’t the best, just to be able to sit outside in the fresh air and listen to nature. Zola (black lab) loved exploring all around the paddock right outside the cabin. We made the very most of the trip. We visited lots of places and had some wonderful adventures. This is just the place to go to relax and rejuvenate and shut the world out for a couple of days. Also for a cabin the shower was spectacular ❤️ Thank you to Matt and Liz for the scones and Jam and the Easter egg! We will most definitely go back again
The cabin is situated on our four acre smallholding and guests will have sole access to two of our paddocks. One is sloped (steeply in places) and planted with wild flowers and over 200 broad leaf saplings. It's boundaries are formed, in part, by a disused railway line, woodland, a country lane and a pretty brook. The other is flatter and mainly laid to grass. The latter is fully dog secure.
We also overlook the River Teifi, although this is much more obvious in the autumn and winter when the leaves on the trees don't obscure the view. It is just a short walk to it's banks.
The smallholding sits on the edge of a small hamlet which adjoins a slightly larger village set on a hill. At the top of the hill (2 minute walk) there is a Post Office, a winery incorporating a cafe/bistro, gift shop selling locally made produce and a small garden centre. There is also the gallery of a local artist, a narrow gauge railway and a WWII prisoner of war camp, all of which are open to the public (booking required for the POW camp). A well stocked shop and a really nice pub are a few minutes drive away.
There are footpaths and a national cycling route a very short distance from the cabin which is also located just a short drive to the main roads leading to the coast (many beaches have good sized car parks) and to the towns of Newcastle Emlyn and Cardigan in one direction, the city of Carmarthen in another and the university town of Lampeter in another. For car free days the village is also on a fixed route for the Bwcabus (the bus goes from Cardigan to Carmarthen passing through Cenarth with it's waterfalls, Drefach Velindre which is home to the National Wool Museum and Bronwydd where there is a steam railway) but can also be booked in advance to take you anywhere in the local area which is off the main route.
自我介绍
My partner Liz and I live on a four acre smallholding in West Wales with three large and friendly hens. We have been here for three years during which time we have been busy reclaiming some of the land from the brambles and turning it into a wildlife friendly meadow by planting native saplings and wildflowers. We love our new home as much for the variety of birds and mammals that live here as for the beautiful scenery.
