Karinthy Frigyes út is the street Karinflats are located on and walking towards Móricz Zsigmond körtér you’ll find several cafés and restaurants on your way. De Giovanni for instance is a great Italian food on the go restaurant! The second street crossing your way will be Bercsényi utca. Turning left here will take you to the huge shopping mall Allee, which houses tons of shops, restaurants, cafés and a supermarket. Turning right on Bercsényi street will take you Gárdonyi tér, which is packed with pubs and cafés, among them Hadik and Szatyor, which two has huge connected interior with two levels and tables around on the street and the square as well. From here, Gellért square is only a short walk away where you can see the famous Hotel Gellért, the historical Szabadság bridge and the buildings of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Don’t miss Pékműhely bakery on your way to Gellért tér, it’s a small hidden shop that sells freshly baked pastry and is a local favourite! It’s exact address is Bartók Béla út 15, but don’t be surprised that there is no sign or whatsoever outside that you could recognise the place!
Gellért hegy is a hill located in the heart of the city with the Statue of Liberty on the very top of it, taking a trip there is a great recreational activity and the the view from the top is breathtaking. You can take the shorter but steeper way from Gellért tér with the winding steps through the park, or start your way back from Móricz Zsigmond tér and walk among the historical houses built on the back of the hill.
