Cute basement airbnb. Close to thanksgiving point! Nice hosts!

It was a cozy, lovely, clean, place, just like advertised, but it was a little chilly-we needed to be wrapped up in blankets because there was no way to control the temperature. If we'd known, we'd have brought some hot chocolate packets, and/or popcorn:); and though we like dogs and puppies, we were glad when the pups that were running around above us were kenneled. We needed to get to bed around 10 to be up early, and it wasn't necessarily quiet until much later, with activities, tv, laughter, etc. going on above us. We would have just gone to a hotel and would have never paid so much if we had known these things.

Let me start with I can believe we had a one off experience. This, however does not excuse the lack of communication that they had puppies upstairs. Very young, loud, active puppies. My wife and I came to town to assist with some renovations for her Moms house prior to her retirement. We needed to be able to relax and get sleep away from the construction site. Saturday morning we were woken up by the puppies and an older dog. It sounded like a daycare upstairs. Sunday morning it was the puppies, music and a male voice singing and whistling with the music. Sleep? Got none. Like I said, any communication prior to the say I would have simply picked another location. We were told nothing of the sort…. Was this a one off? I hope this is not Airbnb standards for a superhost to have a puppy mill out of an airbnb location while having guests in the rental. I prefer to have not further contact with host, unless it is to talk about how much they are refunding.
