The ancient city of Anzio was the capital of the Volscian population for a long period, until it was absorbed into the Roman state.
There are numerous remains of Roman villas along the entire coast: works of art such as The Maiden of Anzio, The Borghese Gladiator today in the Louvre, and the Apollo of the Belvedere, preserved in the Vatican, were all found in patrician residences of ancient Antium .
The Grotte di Nerone beach deserves particular mention; this free beach is located in the city's Archaeological Park.
With golden sand and crystal clear waters, it is surrounded by fascinating cliffs. Here you can also admire the remains of Nero's majestic imperial villa.

The apartment is located on the coast, in the area called Lavinio Lido di Enea, in an area well served by supermarkets and restaurants.
By bus you can arrive in about 20 minutes at the Anzio train station, well connected to the Termini station in Rome, reachable by frequent trains in an hour.
Several beach clubs can be reached on foot in 10 minutes from the apartment.
