This large, quiet home is a relaxing retreat just outside the East Joshua Tree National Park entrance in 29 Palms. It features a private heatable pool, outdoor fire pit, and grill. It is walkable to downtown 29 Palms, has stunning views of the mountains, and--of course--the stars! This home has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, and on-site laundry. It is the perfect place to unwind during hot desert days or spend quiet nights after visiting Joshua Tree National Park! The home is located just outside the East Joshua Tree National Park entrance in 29 Palms! This entrance is much less congested than the West entrance near the town of Joshua Tree. It is across the street from the Oasis of Mara and near the National Park Visitor Center! It's also within walking distance to downtown 29 Palms, including several popular local restaurants, bars and shops. It's also a few minutes from the Black Rock Casino and Sky's The Limit Observatory and Nature Center. It has a beautiful fenced backyard that includes a heatable pool, fire pit, grill, and outdoor seating. The interior features a granite counter that opens up to the living room. The primary bedroom and one guest room are across from the other two guest rooms. The primary bedroom has a king bed and en-suite bathroom. The other three bedrooms feature queen beds and share a bathroom. Outdoors, you'll have views of starry nights, the Oasis of Mara and Queen Mountain, and are likely to see desert rabbits, quails, and roadrunners! At night, you can gaze on bright, twinkling stars and appreciate the stillness, away from the city noise and light.

We had a wonderful time at Barry's place! We were stubborn and came without a car (on Flixbus to Palm Springs and then taxi) which I wouldn't really recommend if you can drive, but we managed well with Barry's taxi recommendations to get in and out of the national park (we were dropped off and picked up at Jumbo Rocks campground so that we could hike the skull rock and split rock trails - highly recommend, it was beautiful! If you go in June like we did, start early [we did 8am-11am]) and we could walk to the Mexican restaurant and 7/11 up the road. The house is directly opposite Oasis of Mara, a lovely 0.5km stroll. The place itself is beautiful, spotless and very spacious, with a much-needed and very clean pool. Little cottontail rabbits clearly have a route through the yard, which is adorable! The kitchen is well stocked and we were able to cook all of our meals easily, the air con was effective, the patio was always in the shade (perfect), and we felt secure. 11/10!

Barry’s place was really nice. The pool was great for kids because it is not too deep. Barry kept great communication. There is an alarm that you have to press a button for every time you open the door to get to the pool. It was a bit annoying but I understand it’s there for safety reasons. The decor was very nice the rooms were spacious. The bathtubs did take a long time to drain and were pretty slippery. There were lots of dishes available to use. However there wasn’t any trash bags or enough toilet paper. We were also a little uncomfortable with the windows being mirrored but the mirror part was on the inside which means anyone can see from outside in but you cannot see out and there wasn’t any curtains to cover the window in the kitchen. Our stay was great overall and would recommend it to friends.
