Great house in a great location. It's old, though, and feels like it. Beds are decent but felt older, water pressure isn't good, and one of the main showers started leaking into the kitchen. That was fixed - Charlie and team are very responsive and gracious - but you should understand you're getting an old house. All told, a great place to stay with a large group, provided that people are willing to share rooms. There are only a few truly private rooms in the house - many rooms have two beds that are supposed to be shared by couples.

Living in a historic home, I understand the upkeep that is required for a home in the south that is 100+ years old. This house had charm and charisma and a great location. The layout was a bit funny and it could have used another en suite bathroom to make it perfect. Some of the upgrades over the years were not quite en pointe, but overall it would have been a lovely experience if not for a barrage of appliance and other home upkeep mishaps. I had to fix multiple items myself and others were never repaired: internet wasn't working, stove top had to clear the gas line of air (trick to keep it lighting for about a minute if you're staying there), the fridge didn't cool and ruined some of our food before we discovered, the back gate for parking off street was never repaired (though I was told they would be by), and I had to bust my daughter of the of bathroom water closet because the latch stopped working) Overall only worth the weekday price and not 3x for the weekend. Very kind operator

We were super excited to stay at Charlie's place. The listing looked great and this was for a fun girls trip. Once we got to the place, check-in went smoothly. We then attempted to leave for dinner and the front door wouldn't shut behind us and was off it's hinges. The door knob also kept falling off. This was frustrating as we had dinner reservations and because of these issues, we could not leave the house unattended with an unlocked door. Charlie was responsive but it still ruined our first night because we had to wait for maintenance. The second day, we were getting ready and the upstairs bathroom started leaking into the main kitchen counter. The door was still not fully fixed either. In the end, Charlie moved us airbnbs (super grateful for this!) but we were only there for two nights and this took up the majority of our time which was extremely inconvenient. Would have appreciated a full refund. Heads up if you are planning to book here, it's an old house with a lot of issues.

Spent a few days in NOLA with my colleagues for a work retreat, and this house was just perfect. Love the location. Walkable to the trolley and to Magazine St and close to a great coffee shop for the early morning cup. Also at the same time really quiet and out of the hustle and bustle. The house is just amazing. Makes you want to stay there just to enjoy it. Plenty of space, squeaky clean, and comfortable for a group. Was really easy to work with the host, who helped us navigate getting to NOLA earlier than expected. Would stay there again and won't ever need to look for another AirBNB in NOLA!
