Thank you for having us in your beautiful home. It was a very special weekend for me as you know and it was the perfect perfect home. Anton was absolutely incredible and India and Matt so accommodating and generous. We had such a wonderful time - thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We stayed at Owl's Rock for 4 nights with party of 9 adults, 1 toddler and a dog. We had an amazing time soaking in the picturesque views and history behind the property. The property is located on of the most valuable stands of property in the country, and this what you pay for - huge grounds, great pool, quiet neighborhood, easy proximity to Hermanus' best sites, and the views are beyond incredible. The house isn't in perfect condition, and it doesn't have luxurious furnishings or a kitchen with a view. It's an historic site and comes with the fittings of the age. The other features and amenities more than made up for this, in our view. We hired a chef for the stay and spent the hours with our friends around the pool, the fire pit, and exploring Hermanus. This is a one-of-a-kind property for those looking to spend their time outside or curled up with a book.

This is a beautiful old house, very representative of the area's architecture. We loved every minute there. The garden is huge and we had fun games of cricket and sat around the fire pit. The views of the water and mountains are spectacular. It is an easy walk along the cliff to town or in the other direction along the gorgeous cliff path to Grotto. We had a big family group and the bedrooms are spacious and lovely and the house has wonderful furnishings. The hosts were so welcoming and Anton the housekeeper friendly, warm and very helpful. Thanks Matthew and India we loved it!

There can’t be a better place in Hermanus for a large and lively family to stay. A lovely house with old world charm, a superb location with spectacular views and an excellent house manager on site. Matt and India were great hosts and were very kind as they allowed us to extend our stay as a result of a medical emergency.

Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Anton who stayed in a house on the grounds was very friendly and helpful. Sweetest guy! Always tried his best to help! The setting of the house is INCREDIBLE! Beautiful huge grounds and beautiful sea views! BEAUTIFUL garden! BUT the house needs serious TLC-maintenance. I know it is an old house, but it needs fixing up-door handles, window latches, stoves don't work 100%-some elements are dead, kitchen cupboard doors needs fixing Also the house was not as clean as expected or maybe I've got a bit of OCD when it comes to clean... Also dog whee smell in sitting room. Couches also needs a revamp. Lots of stains on couches and carpets. Cushions of couches are very worn. Maybe time for new ones... I don't mind paying a lot to rent, but then I expect clean and fixed. Anton tried his best to help where he could, but he is an old man and can't do all the fixing him self. The house got SO much potential! Would recommend this property, BUT it needs TLC!
