Nous avons adoré notre séjour à Ahaspokuna. Nous nous attendions à être proche de la nature mais pas à être autant au milieu de celle-ci et c'était génial ! Eshan et l'équipe ont été très professionnels et accueillants. Nous avions le privilège d'être les seuls invités. On a appris beaucoup de choses avec eux, lors des délicieuw repas ou des bushwalks. Une fois dans la tente, nous avons apprécié leurs petites attentions pour rendre notre séjour encore meilleur. Prendre un thé en entendant les paons, se relaxer dans un bain en regardant les singes se balancer de branche en branche, marcher sur les traces des éléphants, d'être en contact direct avec la nature, c'est ça un séjour à Ahaspokuna. Nous recommandons à 10 000%. Nous avons tellement aimé que nous avons envie de faire plus de séjours dans cet esprit.
My friends and I embarked on a two-night escapade to the eco lodge nestled amidst the untamed beauty of Sri Lanka’s wilderness. 🏕️ Luxury Tent: Our canvas sanctuary was nothing short of a dream. Imagine waking up to the symphony of crickets and the distant call of birds. The tent was a harmonious blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The bed, swathed in soft linens, and a hot water bottle placed before bed time a fantastic touch. 🌿 Bush Walk to a Viewpoint: Armed with curiosity, we set off on a bush walk. Our guide, a font of knowledge, led us through the lush foliage. Alas, the elusive elephants remained hidden, but the viewpoint with fantastic views of the surrounding area made it all worth it. 🔥 Campfires in the evening and food to die for! we had a fantastic time, the whole experience really comes together because of Dulara and his team are nothing short of perfect p.s. to the hosts you've created a slice of paradise in the wild bravo 🙌
The tent was absolutely beautiful, clean and the on-site staff were lovely. Unfortunately the 'starbed' wasn't usable; it was a stained mattress with no bedding (not at all like in the photos) and the wooden platform it was on was damaged and would be very easy to break and fall through. After booking you're sent menus to book your meals. There were no vegetarian options so we decided eat out. After arrival you realize you can't come/go after dark, so when discussing what to do the staff did tell us they had a vegetarian menu, but as we were booking dinner the day-of we'd be charged extra. I don't mind the extra charge if it was our mistake, but not sure why I wasn't sent the veg menu when I had asked about it before check-in, and/or told specifically eating out is not a viable option. The power is only turned on for 1 hour in the morning and 4 hours in the evening and no wifi at all (the info in the listing is incorrect) Beautiful place but some issues that need resolving.
Un havre de paix pour profiter de la nature verdoyante du Sri Lanka, des animaux en liberté et d’une pause paisible. Coupés du monde extérieur, c’est une vraie parenthèse ! Et quelle parenthèse ! Tout y est fait avec goût et élégance, on en oublie que nous sommes coupés de la moindre commodité. Notre coup de cœur lors de notre périple !
Na een tocht van 30 minuten langs beekjes, vreemde bomen en planten, voetafdrukken van olifanten, vogels en aapjes kwamen we aan in het junglekamp, waar we een zeer ruime, drie verdiepingen tellende boomtent bewoonden die smaakvol was ingericht met decorstukken als een typemachine, ouderwetse ventilatoren, olielampen en zebravloerkleden. Wij waren de enige gasten en op het kamppersoneel na, was er geen mens. De stilte achter de kakofonie van junglegeluiden is oorverdovend, de duisternis ‘s nachts compleet (op de magische vuurvliegjes na). De broeierige hitte wordt een paar keer per dag onderbroken door roffelende stortbuien. Perfect als je rust en ultieme privacy zoekt, zoals wij. Heerlijk openluchtbad achter de tent, fantastisch eten, supervriendelijk personeel dat ervoor zorgt dat je je echt thuis voelt. Een leuk detail is de warme kruik die je 's avonds in je bed vindt. Absolute aanrader en een hele bijzondere plek!

Before founding the Eco Team group – an Organisation which has grown to become the most diversified niche tourism specialist group in Sri Lanka – my life wasn’t always about thrill and adventure. Prior to finding my calling in life, I worked as a Trainee Executive in a leading insurance company and rose to the ranks of Sales Manager. My typical career path back in the late ‘90s included everything from Water Cooler Talks to Sales Calls. It wasn’t a walk in the park – in both aspects – but the hardships made the success of today all the more sweeter. My journey simply started with an idea that wasn’t present in Sri Lanka. I set out to pioneer Mobile Tented Safari Camps in Sri Lanka, with the introduction of the revolutionary Mahoora Luxury Safari Camps in 1998. To expand and move to other areas of adventures, and to set up camps in other wildlife locations, Eco Team was established 2 years later. In a fortuitous series of firsts, Mahoora Luxury Safari Camps is not only the ultimate luxury tented camp brand in the country, it’s also the first ever mobile tented luxury safari camp in the world to be completely carbon neutral. When I created Ahaspokuna Bushwalks Camp in 2017, it was the first ever bushwalks camp in Sri Lanka. From its inception to what it is today, sustainability has been and will always be at the heart of both ventures. While Eco Team was blooming, I teamed up with extremely talented individuals from Sri Lanka and overseas and established two Destination Management Companies in Sri Lanka – Encounters Asia and Experiential Journeys, to cater to high-end experiential travel and mid-range local experience-based travel respectively. In 2001 I became one of the three pioneers in Sri Lanka to establish experience-based corporate training. Growing from this experience, I started Beyond Boundaries Global (Pvt) Ltd. Shortly after the business took flight, it became the most sought after, innovative, and unconventional MICE operator and experience-based Team Building and Leadership Training outfit in the country. Today as the Founder and President of the Sri Lanka Wilderness Foundation, I have taken my passion for environmental conservation and sustainability to a nationwide platform. I serve as a consultant and a panellist to the Private, NGO and Government sectors, including The Ministry of Tourism, on various niche tourism initiatives.
