Doug’s place was fantastic, truly a peaceful getaway. It is secluded, but still within walking distance of the restaurants and village. Brian and Doug were very friendly, and gave lots of good advice for things to do and places to eat. Highly recommend!

Doug and Claudio were a wealth of knowledge and provided recommendations on what to see and do in the area. The best part about the property was a natural area with bird feeders and it was really great to sit and watch the birds. There was a lot of bird diversity! There are also trails within walking distance to explore. It was also very quiet and felt safe. The main downside was that we found several scorpions in the accommodation but luckily no one got stung.

We absolutely loved this place. The setting was beautiful, close to town and also close to amazing hiking/running trails. There was amazing bird activity right outside our door, and we got to see the local fox! Wonderful, relaxing stay.

Claudia, Doug, and Brian were wonderful hosts, Panda was a bit aloof – but what can you expect from a cat. The property is a delightful natural area with easy access to several hiking/biking trails and a 15-minute walk into town. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the lanai and surrounding gardens provided great opportunity for casual birdwatching. The feeder and birdbath in the garden off our lanai attracted several species including Xantus’s and Costa’s Hummingbirds, Hooded Orioles, Gray Thrashers, and Gila Woodpeckers. Most evenings a sweet, semi-tame gray fox visited while we prepared dinner – she’s a sucker for dried mango. The kitchen was adequately stocked with plates and cookware, bottled drinking water, toaster, coffee pot, gas cooktop, and a large refrigerator. The only thing missing were rocks glasses for my husband’s martini – but Brian was quick to remedy that little oversight!
