Overall a great place on Lake Anna. We were blessed to be there when the HAB warning was lifted. Lots of fun to be had. Lots of fish to catch. Really beautiful and secluded location. Only drawback (of there was one) was that the kitchen didn't have any extras (no foil, plastic wrap, little baggies). That's not a big deal, but something we didn't think of, most places we've stayed had basics like that.
overall the stay was great. We had ten people 5 of which had boats and it was an easy drive to the Marina for launch. it was peaceful and private. The check in was a breeze and check out was easy, however the checkout was not super clear on what to do with trash in fact it said nothing so we emptied all the cans and put the bags in the bins on the porch because we were unsure what to do with trash. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone with boats and lots of people.
The home is exactly as described and has more than enough space for a large group. The cabin is dog-friendly, which was great. The property is also very private, which is great. There is a lovely view of the lake from the back porch and easy access to the water from the dock. Kayaks are available, but we could not make use of them. Unfortunately, there was a harmful algal bloom during our stay (mid-July), so entering the water was not safe. There was a visible film/muck on the water near the shore. The listing warns that this is possible, so we were warned. We did see a couple of people skiing on the lake during our stay, so some people don’t seem to mind. The upper back porch was essentially unusable after dark due to a massive nightly swarm of insects outside the windows (again, mid-July). A screened porch would be nice. We were not mislead, just naive to what the environment would be like at this time of year. One last thing to be aware of - checkout is at 10am (as stated in the listing). However, the welcome/informational book in the property states that checkout is 11am. The checkout time in the on-site book is incorrect.
