Jim was very quick to respond - overall, our experience with Jim was great. No issues there. However, our room was completely outdated, not a true reflection of what is in the photos, unfortunately. Room was dark, had an old, musty smell, the couch was very old and worn. The pull out bed was completely lopsided. The bottom half had zero support and our poor kids were falling off the bed throughout the night. The room was freezing (the heater was broken). The front desk was amazing and provided us with a space heater. Proximity to Union square is fantastic but unbeknownst to us, just one block over, was filled with transients, homeless, drug addicts and “land mines”. Had we known that, we would’ve chosen to stay elsewhere. I realize this is beyond the hotel and Jim’s control. The rooftop and lobby were nice, clean and updated. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the rooms. Based on proximity to Union square and Jim’s response time alone, I give it 4 stars. 3 stars, overall.
