Our stay at the Porch House was a delight from start to finish, from ease of getting in and relaxing in the wonderful apartment, to getting out and exploring Bishops Castle further. Jenny and Ned were gracious hosts and communication was warm and responsive. Bishops Castle is a treat, great shops and pubs, and the Porch House is a truly splendid building. The apartment is cosy and all you could ask for. I hope it won’t be too long before we are back again. Thank you Jenny and Ned!

Jenny is an artist and a very nice person. We can feel that she has put lots of effort and love to maintain this grade II heritage house. She’s passionate to show us her painting studio which is a cool space at the same house! Personally I am obsessed with every old wooden beam in the house. Jenny is very honest to state in the description that there are night music from the pub opposite us and the bell rings from the school/church. I think these sounds are mild and haven’t caused any disturbances. Don’t be hindered to consider booking her lovely apartment. Finally, Bishop’s Castle is actually a cute tiny artsy town. Although all shops are all located within a very small area (say within 3 minutes walk from one end to another end), there are three bookstores, few decent cafes and pubs for you to hang out. A gallery, a museum and a framing shop are also there. Not to mention the unique paintings at the facade of the houses. Cool stuff.
