We received a warm welcome from Cara, could put our bicycles safe in a barn. Everything is as discribed, home baked bread in the morning was very nice, lovely animals to see and a farmshop worth paying a visit!!

Good stay at the farm. The host is great. Rooms are clean and tidy. There is a peculiarity of how to use the bathroom but if you read clear instructions you won’t have any issue.

Nous avions ls chambre 2. Il manquait d"espace, nous aurions apprecie disposer d'un bureau pour ecrire et d'une 2e chaise. Toutefois la chambre etait impeccable et silencieuse. Petit dejeuner avec oeufs frais, pain maison, etc. Hotesse est charmante, la ferme distrayante.

We visited Cara at John O’Groats early May. Cara welcomed us personally and showed us around her lovely place. You’ll stay in the first floor and will share a bathroom with guests in the other room on the same floor. Cara lives downstairs. The breakfast room (with sheep walking by under your window) also is downstairs. You’ll get a nice fresh breakfast there every morning. Beds are comfortable, room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. There’s no shower, you need to take a bath or shower yourself while sitting in the bathtub…If you’re into long hot showers you might be a bit disappointed by that so do take that into account. I love taking baths so no problem for me there but it might be a bit uncomfortable taking the bathroom for a longer time if you actually need to share the bathroom…the other room was vacant when we stayed so we had all the time in the world :) While you’re at Cara’s, don’t forget to pay the petting farm and her little shop a visit. Its worth it!

The Puffin Cottage was simply delightful! The moment we arrived Cara made us feel comfortable and ‘at home’ Everything was clean and well organized and Cara had local information aplenty A very special breakfast treat - freshly baked bread! Won’t ever get the chance to return to Scotland, so will treasure the memories of this beautiful little place!
