Despite speaking with the hosts the day of, and even 15 minutes prior to arrival, they did no tell us that our room was not going to be available. They then put us into another Homestay (the family we stayed with was wonderful, but it was not nearly as nice as this one). Given that we have two VERY busy days scheduled we deliberately spent extra money to stay here for two nights to make our lives easier. Having to move homes was NOT ok. Nor was the host having us arrive, showing us the map, talking to us for ten minutes only to LATER tell us we weren’t actually staying there. They did invite us for a lovely dinner to make up for it, and the place is lovely, I just hated feeling unnecessarily tricked. I would have been more than understanding had they been honest.
