Highly recommend. The unit is exactly as shown in the photos and perfect for a quick getaway. Great location along the harbor and very quiet. Will definitely return.

We really enjoyed the space. It has a great kitchenette and bathroom. The chairs and hose are awesome additions. And the golf cart included was the absolute best part!

House was in a great location for check in and out. Our favorite restaurant was a 7 minute drive (jailhouse). Access to the clubs would have been nice (a single dinner pass maybe). BHI services was fantastic! We had a little trouble locking the door (really needed to pull hard) and they were extremely helpful to us while figuring it out.

Never being to Bald Head Island I felt a little instruction regarding the ferry and how to get to the house would have been helpful. Also a complimentary bottle of water or 2 would have been nice since when we got there it was dark and everything was closed.

Check in and check was smooth and easy. The location of this cottage at the marina was great. A perfect view of Oak Island light house came in through the main windows at night. The cottage is a bit worn, but the all was clean. The kitchenette area was nice was a microwave, refrigerator drawer, freezer drawer and toaster oven. There were stocked cabinets with dishes, silverware & extra pillows and towels in the closet. The space is small and perfect for two or two and a small dog. We visited during November and didn’t have much beach luggage, but would suggest if you visit during peak season, there’s not a lot of room for luggage/luggage storage in the cottage. Upon arrival we noticed that 2 beach chairs and a small folding chair had been left on the porch. That was nice, but we didn’t use them due to the temperatures and high winds during our visit. The information provided inside the home for the island was helpful, but mainly focused on the peak season, which we were NOT in when visiting. It would have been nice to have info on what was actually open when we visited. There were very few options for dining if you didn’t join the Bald Head Island Club. We were able to get a two day membership for our stay for only $60. That was great! Wonderful dining options (several restaurants have a nicer dress code) and they provided a nice place to hang out until 9pm since everything else on the island seemed to be closed. Avoid Jules at the Marina. The staff are rude and check the reviews before you go. We did receive a 6 seater pink golf cart upon arrival that was waiting at the cottage. This golf cart had seen better days. The seats were falling apart, the brakes didn’t work and the headlights for traveling the island at night was impossible to see with. We messaged BHI Services through AirBnB and they replied immediately for us to have the cart looked at. We opted to just rent an enclosed cart from Cary Cart Company since we froze when riding the pink cart with no enclosure. It would have been nice to save that money and been given a golf cart with an enclosure due to the weather during our stay. It seems like the BHI Services with the cottage are very cookie cutter and not tailored to the individuals stay. I would strongly suggest requesting an enclosure if you’re visiting in the Fall or Winter. And be prepared for almost nothing to be open during that time. We also couldn’t watch TV without the captions on and the TV remote is awful. Overall we enjoyed the location, dining at the BHI Club, the room setup and exploring the island. Not sure we will be back since it was quite remote. I imagine peak season is a much more lively time to visit.
