Chateau Sugars was marvelous. Perfectly clean, welcoming, it felt like home. Our hosts, Conroy, Raymond & Lynn were just the best. Raymond & Lynn showed us around the island & also suggested places to go. Lynn made sure we had fresh fruit & I mean fresh!!! Papaya, pineapples, bananas. Eating a banana that’s just been picked & is still warm from the sun……….oh my goodness!!! The ocean was right across the street from Chateau Sugars. The Calibushie locals took us to their hearts & we them. Totou’s bar right across the street (Mr. Totou), Alfred at A&A’s grocery store 2 doors down, Coral Reef restaurant (their garlic shrimp was amazing). We visited Emerald Pool twice. swam & had lunch in Mero Beach (thanks, Raymond), went to Woolford Hill Beach twice, got chocolate at The Chocolate Factory YUM, hiked down to Batibou Beach, which was stunning. Pirates of the Caribbean 4 was filmed there (& several other locations on Dominica). If you love Nature, definitely GO! & stay at Chateau Sugars!!!

Excelente cottage probably the best in Calibishie. The place is very modern and exceptionally clean. You have all that you need in the kitchen and bathroom. Location is im the heart of the village right next door to a grocery store. The host is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place

C’était génial il n’y a rien à dire gary est accueillant et de bon conseil ! Le village de Calibishie est très sympa et paisible dans une atmosphère Dominicaine formidable. Le logement y est idéalement placé

We got a recommendation for this place and were SO pleased with our experience! We were met at the time arranged and we were treated very well. The space was very comfortable. It was clean, and well-stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen to cook and entertain - we even received complimentary water and snacks! We got access to Netflix, we got enough towels (including a wash rag), and it had A/C in all the rooms which was missing from other places. The water pressure and temperature were good. The only thing missing was brighter light. The lighting was too dim in the evening in our opinion - but plenty of natural light in the day! It is right on the main road across from where the ocean meets a little river and within walking distance to everything worth going to (grocery, eateries etc.). BATIBOU beach is a distance away but you can catch a bus/van right outside the door. You will be very happy here - if it is not booked, BOOK IT!
